RV garage (with guest house) in Texas
Before we focus on the specifics of this construction project, here are some introductory comments. First, whatever you need (even beyond building you an RV garage or guest house addition), our garage builders can help you to plan it, design it, and build it (and even help you get financing to fund the construction).
Across the years, our builders in Texas have built everything from simple residential garages (with no custom features) to colossal industrial garages (of over 10,000 square feet). The designs have included garages that were attached & detached, single-story & multi-level, plus very small & very large (including lots of RV garages, including a few more that included an attached guest house like this one). So, while this garage showcases a few distinctive features, you can also browse through a gallery of several other garage construction projects that were unique in other ways (by clicking here:

What's the typical process from design to permitting to construction?
Generally, most people who contact us do not already have a floorplan or architectural drawings. So, we typically help Texas homeowners to review the design options that fit for their priorities and property, then create whatever plans or blueprints are needed to get the building permit.
In this case, the RV garage at the top of the page looks somewhat typical, right? However, take a look at the photo to the right. Off to the right of the garage doors, there is clearly a lot more there than just a covered parking area. There is a decent-sized apartment "hiding" behind the tall building for parking the motor home.
In the slideshow to the far left, you can get a sense of that the building would look like if you walked around it. We'll include a larger exterior picture below, but first let's take a peek inside...
The interior features a full kitchen plus two bedrooms (as well as one and a half bathrooms). Some of these pictures were taken prior to the final stages (like installing the floor tiles), although you can get a good idea of the interior space from these photos.
The image on the right shows the exterior view of the same sliding glass windows that are in the photo above to the left. Note that all the piles of gravel in these photos were later spread out across the ground, plus some landscaping to make a boundary between the walkways and the native Texas plants.
Here are two more angles of the kitchen. If you look closely at these two photos, you can see one of our installers talking on his cell phone while he inspects the plumbing under the kitchen sink.
Keep in mind that this kitchen is relatively small, since this is just a guest house for temporary visitors. While there is not a huge amount of counter space or overhead cabinets, it is quite sufficient for when the elderly in-laws flee from the ice and snow to come down south to Texas for a few months of mild winter.
In the next pictures, we see the two bathrooms. The master bathroom has a full shower and tub plus lots of storage in the medicine cabinet (which will go in the wall shown here.) The half bathroom is quite simple with a modest sink and toilet.
Further down are pictures of the two bedrooms. Not shown is the washer-dryer hookup, plus the interior of the RV garage and standard-sized 1-car garage.
Custom "design and build" construction services for your new garage
Generally speaking, most garages (or guest houses) are a lot alike, right? However, our builders can design and build you an addition as well as anything else you need. So, whether your priority is a standard RV garage, a totally custom-designed addition, or a customization of a standard floorplan, we will help you!
Naturally, not everyone who wants to build an RV garage in Texas is going to value the same priorities. Some people prefer a simple, standard floorplan (and keeping costs low). Others value features like an attached apartment or mother-in-law suite. Whether your top priority is keeping your budget low or something else, be sure to let your estimator know what is important to you when you send us an inquiry through our form to
